Record Release of Anthony Huseyin's < O Geliyor – Making O > at Kantine am Berghain

Anthony Hüseyin presents O Geliyor – Making O, the vinyl return of their 2022 album Project O. On 17 October 2026, Anthony Hüseyin celebrates the vinyl release with a special launch concert at Kantine am Berghain, Berlin. Originally released in 2022 as Project O, the album returns in a new physical form and under a new title, bringing its exploration of gender, memory, displacement, belonging, and home into the present.

At the heart of O Geliyor – Making O is Anthony Hüseyin’s ongoing dialogue with Zeki Müren, the legendary and radically gender-defying figure of Turkish Art Music. Combining the musical language of Turkish Art Music with contemporary disco-inflected electro-pop, the project proposes a queer, contemporary neo-Turkish Art Music.

The title refers to “O,” the gender-neutral third-person pronoun in Turkish, encompassing all gender possibilities. Through voice, music, and performance, Anthony Hüseyin uses O to question fixed ideas of gender and identity while reflecting on migration, memory, and the search for home.

Anthony Hüseyin is a non-binary musician and performance artist of Kurdish-Turkish and Arabic descent, working across voice, music, performance, film, dance, and installation. Raised in Urfa, they studied classical singing in Istanbul and jazz singing, composition, and arrangement in Rotterdam.

Their work explores identity, memory, displacement, community, and the body, and has been presented at venues and festivals including Maxim Gorki Theater, Marina Abramovic Institute, Neukolner Oper, Berghain Kantine, Fusion Festival, Garbicz Festival, Pop-Kultur Berlin, İÇ İÇE Festival, and Rotterdam Opera Festival.

Booty Carrell is the DJ alias of Vinyl archaeologist and outernational deejay Sebastian Reier. Carrell does his research in the deep spaces of the vinyl universe. He digs into the second wave of musical globalization. And he sets off where musicians around the world have started to melt regional traditions with a western gesture. Be it in Turkey, Iran, Romania, Pakistan, France or even Germany — Carrell is known to deliver minority pop and neglected world hits that can turn the world upside down. But first they'll make you dance! Making Global Sound Local is the slogan of his DJ crew B-Music that formed around record label Finders Keepers. For years, Booty Carrell has been keeping the dancefloors in Europe lit sharing the decks with the likes of Coco Maria, Habibi Funk, Andy Votel, Chris Menist, Maft Sai, Ladies On Records, Awesome Tapes From Africa, Kaya, JJ Whitefield, Bushfya, Doug Shipton — to name a few — while catering music in the Hamburg-based record store Groove City from 2008-2020. In 2014 his music programmation for the New Hamburg Festival was a huge success and introduced no other than then 19 year old Derya Yıldırım to an international audience (as well as to her future band Grup Şimşek). His show Groovie Shizzl is an established cult format on radio station ByteFM running since 2010. From 2020-2026 he was music director at Münchner Kammerspiele in Munich, Germany. That’s also where he co-founded the internationally recognized art space Habibi Kiosk. In summer 2026 Sebastian is moving back to Hamburg and Berlin joining the team of Konzerthaus Berlin setting up Konzerthaus nextdoor while sharing vinyl, knowledge and programmation at the newly established SLOMO Hifi Bar in Hamburg.
