Death by GPS – DJ-Set by Aminata (The Ping Pong Police), Paul (Modern Twerking), Holger (DJ Jaywalk)
Boredom is human. It is natural to seek for new sources of stimulation. Truth is, thanks to the Internet, digital music services are nowadays multiple: Soundcloud, Bandcamp, Spotify, Deezer, Youtube, among others. Yet, when one uses one of them, how far can discoveries be made within these streaming media? Despite the potential of autoplay in Youtube or Spotify, the scope of discovery is rather limited, since the aim is to play similar songs. What then? Boredom. Again.
Furthermore, unknown artists are present on these platforms, nevertheless it is quite complicated to access their music, especially if nobody knows they exist. On top of that, the good ones are often harder to find. This is also valid in the analog world: it is not that easy to find the rare gem among 10.000 records. What’s the best way out of the dead end?
Our answer is: the people. Let’s see how three different profiles from unequal ages, nationalities, experiences and environments can bring together a harmony of diversity: Brazilian rap, Turkish music, US hip-hop, disco funk, house music, techno, among many others. Release your boundaries, don’t look for the pattern: the aim is to leave the Path of Ennui, hoping that a London influenced motion designer, an Berlin-based art historian and a Parisian engineering student will dissuade you from your way.
Bisous.
