Miss Read: The Berlin Art Book Fair brings together a wide selection of 200+ of the most interesting artists/authors, artist periodicals and art publishers and is accompanied by a series of lectures, discussions, book launches and workshops exploring the boundaries of contemporary publishing and the possibilities of the book.
Corvo Records is a label for sound art and contemporary music, founded 2010 in Berlin by Wendelin Büchler. We focus on the production of primarily vinyl records and art books. Each of the label’s release is ambitiously produced with the highest possible sound quality and great care for both the visual and haptical aspect. The records come as picture discs or coloured vinyl in gatefold sleeves, with silkscreen prints, and hand-made inlays. All of them are limited and hand-numbered.
Corvo Records’ sublabel Global Pop First Wave (curated by Holger Lund) is releasing unexpected sounds with a special focus on Turkish rock, psychedelic, and beat music from the 1960s and 1970s, mixing Western and Eastern elements. Global Pop First Wave is curiously remapping the knowledge of non-western pop music since 2013.
Visual music, expanded cinema, live cinema, VJing, live audiovisual performance—these are concepts enough to create some confusion in the wide realm of today’s artistic audiovisual production. To untangle this confusion was the aim of the project The Audiovisual Breakthrough, edited by Ana Carvahlo and Cornelia Lund, released as online version and as a risographed book in limited edition.
