Sinopale – Workshop

The research project Turkish Pop Music Images investigates Turkish pop music from the 1960s to the early 1980s as well as the related communication design, from record covers to magazines, from cinema posters to performances in films and clips. In the workshop, we will explore together material from the project archive and have a look at traces of the local gazino culture. By looking at the images and listening to the music we want to discuss their artistic, social and political meaning(s) for the historical and our contemporary contexts.
